Using templates in campaigns

How template selection actually works inside a campaign — for the initial email and for every follow-up step.

You never actually have to leave a campaign to use a template. Every email in a campaign — the initial send and every individual follow-up step — opens the exact same template picker, and every editor you'd use standalone works identically from inside one.

Change Template: two paths

Click Change Template on any campaign email and you're offered exactly two directions:

Create new design

Opens the same three-editor choice as building a template from scratch — Visual Builder, Code Editor, or Plain Text.

Choose from templates

Opens a browser of existing templates to pick from instead of starting over.

Choosing from templates

This browser is where your personal library meets a shared one — three tabs, each with a live count:

FieldWhat it means
AllYour templates and the public library, combined.
My TemplatesOnly what you've personally built or saved.
PublicA shared library of ready-made templates anyone can use as a starting point.

Search narrows any tab by name. Hover a card and a real rendered preview appears with a Use Template button — click it and that design is applied to the email immediately.

Using it isn't the same as saving it

Selecting a template instantly fills in the campaign email — no extra save step needed just to send with it as-is. Want to tweak it first? Click Edit Design: for one of your own templates, that opens it for editing in place; for a public one, editing and saving creates a brand-new template of your own rather than modifying the shared original.

The same picker for follow-ups

Open a Send Email step in the Follow-up sequence builder and you'll find Edit Template, Change Template, and Browse Templates — the identical Change Template modal, the identical template browser, the identical three editors. Whatever you already know from setting the initial email carries over exactly to writing follow-up #2, #3, and beyond.

Where Save actually takes you

1

From the standalone Templates page

Save writes to your library and returns you to Templates — nothing about a campaign is involved.

2

From a campaign's Design step

Save applies the HTML straight to that campaign's initial email and returns you to Design — the button even says "Use in Campaign" instead of "Save" to make that obvious.

3

From a follow-up Send Email step

Save applies the HTML to that specific follow-up node and returns you to the Follow-up canvas.

One editor, wherever you open it

Because the same three editors power every one of these paths, a skill you learn building a standalone template — inserting a variable, loading a Pro Template, chatting with the AI assistant — works exactly the same way whether you're designing your very first template or the tenth email in a follow-up sequence.
